We are pleased to share that Saint Mary’s University has launched a secure national digital credential platform called MyCreds™ effective today.
MyCreds™ provides fast and easy access for students and alumni to request and send official transcripts from Saint Mary’s to academic institutions, employers, government offices and other third parties, anytime, anywhere. Saint Mary’s will also be able to receive official documents and credentials for prospective students through this platform.
Saint Mary’s will continue to issue hard copy transcripts, via the Transcript Request Form PDF found on SMU Academics > Transcripts.
Students have been sent the following communication providing information and guidance on requesting transcripts from Saint Mary’s and utilizing the MyCreds™ platform:

We are pleased to share that Saint Mary’s University has implemented the secure national digital credential platform called MyCreds™. Through MyCreds™, students and alumni will be able to request and share Saint Mary’s transcripts, anytime, anywhere. Transcripts are official, with a tamper-proof Blue Ribbon seal indicating authenticity.

Transcripts
Enrolment Services issues transcripts for all Saint Mary’s University students and alumni. Transcripts provide proof of education, outlining courses completed and associated grades received up until the date of issue.
Saint Mary’s University is a member of MyCreds™ network, a national, shared service and platform that allows students to view and share verified and official transcripts in a digitized format on a 24/7 basis – anytime, anywhere.

Information for current students
Saint Mary’s University digital transcripts are issued through the MyCreds™ network, which is a national, shared service and platform that provides students and graduates access to a secure, online, password-protected learner credential wallet.
Ordering a digital transcript
To order a digital transcript, follow these simple steps:
- Log on to your Self-Service Banner, Select the Student tab > Order Official Transcripts > Request Official Transcript 8x.
- Wait to receive an email notification from MyCreds™ prompting you to create a MyCreds™ account and notifying you that your digital transcript is ready.
- Purchase share credits from MyCreds™ to view and authorize the distribution of your digital transcript to your chosen recipient.
- Once your account is set up in the MyCreds™ portal you will be able to make new transcript requests directly through the portal 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Processing timeline
Once requested, your transcript request will be processed within 1-2 business days and you will receive an email notification from MyCreds™ that your document is ready to access.
Transcripts prior to and including 1988 may take up to 5 business days to process.
Cost
$10 plus tax per share credit, paid through the MyCreds™ portal.
Note: To access your credentials, you must purchase at least one share credit.
Ordering a hard copy transcript
If you wish to pick up a hardcopy of your transcript, follow these steps:
- Complete the Transcript Request Form
- Email completed form to service.centre@smu.ca
- Wait to receive an email notification from the Service Centre notifying you that your transcript is ready to pick up.
- Upon arrival to the Service Centre MM108, you will be requested to show your ID and pay for your transcript via debit or credit card.
Cost
$10, paid in-person by credit or debit card. Cash is not accepted.
Information for International students
Follow the steps for current students to order a digital or hard copy transcript.
How do I submit my official transcript from MyCreds to IRCC as part of my visa/study permit renewal application or work permit application?
To submit your official transcript to IRCC, first share the document to yourself and download a copy. You can then upload the transcript to the IRCC application portal.
Information for former students
If you are a former Saint Mary's student and would like to order a digital transcript, follow the steps below.
If you have an active SMU email account (former students)
- Log on to your Self-Service Banner, Select the Student tab > Order Official Transcripts > Request Official Transcript 8x.
- Wait to receive an email notification from MyCreds™ prompting you to create a MyCreds™ account and notifying you that your digital transcript is ready.
