SPSS from AppsAnyhwere not saving output .spv files on a Mac

Currently, SPSS running via AppsAnywhere on a Mac is not able to save output .spv files. They get saved for about a second, but then they disappear on their own.

After extensive troubleshooting, it appears that this is a unique issue with SPSS run via AppsAnywhere on Macs only, and we currently do not have a solution for this problem, unfortunately.

But we do have two workaround solutions:

1. Use a Windows machine (personal or on campus).

We have tested this and can confirm that this is not a problem with SPSS running via AppsAnywhere on Windows. SPSS can save .spv output files successfully, and they do not disappear.

2. Export the Output file in a different file format, such as .pdf or .docx.

We have tested this and can confirm that the Output files can be exported in other formats, such as .pdf or .docx, and they are saved on MacBooks without any issues.

To export your Output file in another format, please follow the instructions below:

1. On your SPSS output window, go to File - Export.

2. Under Document / Type, you can change the file format by clicking on the drop-down menu. I recommend either .pdf or .docx formats as they're easy to open on most computers.

3. In the File Name bar, click on Browse and carefully navigate to the folder in Drives on your MacBook, and then give your file a name and include the file extension you selected at the end. For example, Output.docx if you're saving in .docx format or Output.pdf if you're saving in .pdf format.

4. Click on OK at the bottom, and your file should now be saved on your MacBook.

Please note that saving .sav files using SPSS (AppsAnywhere) is not an issue with Macs.
