Teams MacOS: Potential issue with the configuration of Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU) affecting macOS devices

Microsoft have identified a potential issue with the configuration of Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU) affecting macOS devices - Start time Oct 17, 2024, 1:23 p.m. ADT

Microsoft has reported a service health of potential issues with the Microsoft Teams app on MacOS. See attached document of the full service health report from MS.

According to the service health, they advise to run commands in Terminal on the affected Mac to check whether the Teams app has a registration entry in it and if not, to update it.

The article for instructions on commands are here with the instructions to solve it: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-client-update#how-to-troubleshoot-a-mau-configuration.

In the screenshots below with the commands run, we can see the entry highlighted Microsoft Teams.app so this means the service is healthy on the Mac.

This appears to be a case-by-case situation, if a user reports issues with Teams on Mac, to know that this is affected by this service health issue, run the commands as stated in the link to the Microsoft article to ensure that the Microsoft Teams.app is there. There's hasn't been an affected Mac investigate, but the general resolution would likely to delete the Teams app if they have one and install the latest from the website https://aka.ms/getteams
