Reminder: Be Diligent with Microsoft Authenticator App Prompts
Saint Mary’s University continues the work to improve our Cybersecurity posture and MultiFactor Authentication is a critical component. Microsoft Authenticator app is the preferred authentication method, serving as a crucial tool in safeguarding our systems and data. EIT would like to remind the University Community to remain vigilant and attentive to prompts from the app to ensure the integrity of our accounts and protect against unauthorized access.
Key Points:
-
Stay Alert: Pay close attention to notifications or prompts from the Microsoft Authenticator app.
-
Verify Authenticity: Always verify the legitimacy of the prompts before taking any action. Review the App and Location information carefully, as seen below.
-
Avoid Suspicious Activities: Refrain from approving prompts that seem out of the ordinary or are unexpected.
-
Report Concerns: If you encounter any suspicious activity or prompts that raise concern, promptly report them to the EIT.
By being diligent and proactive in our approach to MultiFactor Authentication, we can significantly enhance our cybersecurity posture and protect our organization's sensitive information.
