Microsoft Defender AV Network Protection

Network Protection has been enabled in the Microsoft Defender AntiVirus policy, this feature blocks access to low reputation websites on a globally maintained list. Below is the experience a user will have. When users attempt to visit one of these websites, an alert will be populated in the Microsoft Defender admin console that can be reviewed and tracked.

Visiting a low reputation website via Chrome or FireFox, a user will see the following in the web browser as well as a pop up from Windows. The pop up will have an OK and Feedback button, the feedback button will take the user to a website seen later in this article. Local device admins will also see and Unblock button, which will allow them to continue to the website and allow the exception for 24 hours.

Visiting a low reputation website via Edge, a user will see the following in the web browser. There will be more options under "More information" that will allow the user to report the site as safe and take the user to a website seen later in this article. Local device admins will also have the ability to continue to the website and allow the exception for 24 hours.
