A guide to give permission to screen-share in privacy settings on MacBooks
You might notice that when you're trying to do a screen-share on a Macbook via MS Teams or Zoom it might pop-up a message saying it might need permission to perform this action. This step-by-step guide will assist you to give permission to do the screen-share on MS Teams or Zoom.
In MS Teams or Zoom, when you click on the screen-share up arrow icon, if it tells you that you need to give permission, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click on the Apple logo on the top left of the desktop and click on "System Preferences"
Step 2: In System Preferences window, click on "Security & Privacy"
Step 3: Click on the 'Privacy' tab
Step 4: Scroll and click on "Screen Recording" in the left pane.
Any applications that requires permission to screen-share will be shown in the right pane under "Allow the apps below to record...."
Notice: You might need to click on the lock at the bottom left of that window and enter username and password in order to make the changes.
All Done! You are ready to screen-share.
