Body

As most should be aware Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 in October 2025.  EIT began updating to Windows 11 in 2024 and will be completing the upgrades through to October.  Below are the main new features in Windows 11.

Windows 11 brings a fresh, modern look compared to Windows 10, along with several usability and performance improvements. Here are some key differences:

  • User Interface: Windows 11 features a centered Start Menu and Taskbar, rounded corners, and a more streamlined design, while Windows 10 retains a more traditional layout.
  • Performance & Security: Windows 11 is optimized for newer hardware, offering better performance and security enhancements like TPM 2.0 and Windows Hello.
  • Multitasking: Windows 11 introduces Snap Layouts and Snap Groups for improved window management, making multitasking smoother.
  • Gaming: Windows 11 supports Auto HDR and DirectStorage, enhancing gaming performance compared to Windows 10.
  • Microsoft Store & Apps: Windows 11 has a redesigned Microsoft Store with Android app support, while Windows 10 lacks this feature.
  • Updates: Windows 11 offers fewer interruptions and better control over updates, whereas Windows 10 updates can sometimes be disruptive.
