AI Chatbot Microsoft Co-Pilot

Summary

Copilot chatbot is available for Staff and Faculty

Body

Eligible staff & faculty have access to Microsoft Copilot. This access is provided via the secure enterprise edition of Microsoft Copilot, which adheres to the University’s privacy and data protection standards.
It is important to note that the public version does not offer the same level of privacy and data protection.

Despite its name, this service is distinct from 'Microsoft 365 Co-pilot', meaning it does NOT interact with Outlook emails, SharePoint files, Teams messages, etc. Additionally, chat data is neither saved nor used to train models nor is it made available to Microsoft.

Copilot is an AI-powered assistant that can help you browse the web and much more! You can ask Copilot both simple and complex questions; use it for research; request summaries of articles, books, events, the news, sports results, etc.; ask for product comparisons. You can also ask it to generate text and images, reformat text, update images, and more. Copilot takes search to a whole new level, allowing you to direct the search by asking additional questions and providing content to move you forward on any task.

If you’re using Microsoft Edge, select the Copilot icon to open the Copilot pane. You’ll have access to tabs for Copilot, Compose, and Insights: three powerful and distinctive AI tools.

Copilot mobile app

Copilot is also accessible on your smartphone or tablet. To use Copilot on the go, you’ll need to download the Copilot mobile app on iOS or Android.

Currently, students do not have access to the enterprise edition of this service. For students who are also employees, access to Copilot is determined by the primary license type assigned by their respective departments.
