PuTTY is a free and open-source terminal emulator, serial console and network file transfer application. It supports several network protocols, including SCP, SSH, Telnet, rlogin, and raw socket connection. It can also connect to a serial port.
You can download PuTTY from this link: https://www.putty.org/
You will see this screen:
Click on the “here” link as shown in the picture.
You will now see the screen below:
You should click on the link as shown in the picture.
You will be prompted to download the Executable File as shown below:
Note:
You can choose where the SET-UP file will be saved. For instance, the file being shown is saved on the Desktop.
You should now follow the instructions which are very simple.
Congratulations! You have downloaded PuTTY successfully. You will see the screen below once you open PuTTY.
WinSCP is a free and open-source SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3 and SCP client for Microsoft Windows. Its main function is secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer.

Click on the download button as shown in the picture.
You might be prompted to trust the website. In this case, you should click OK.
You will now see the Executable file being downloaded at the bottom of your screen as shown:
Once downloaded, you should click on it and run the set-up.
Note:

**How to open WinSCP?
Simply type WinSCP in the “TYPE HERE TO SEARCH “ bar on the bottom-left of the desktop.
We recommend you change the passwords, which can be done in winscp. By selecting Commands/open in Putty from the menu in Winscp a popup terminal window will appear. After entering your temporary password you will then be prompted twice to enter your new password. We suggest minimum 14 charcters with at least one uppercase letter, a number and a special character.
